Our Programs

Pacific Spirit Pilates works with clients who have physical challenges, as well as clients for strength training. Our approach works because we address muscle imbalances that result from poor posture, weak core muscles, injuries and other issues such as arthritis, scoliosis, leg length difference, foot, ankle, knee, hip, shoulder and back pain. We do this by first analyzing your posture and gait. We address your issues with you in private clinical Pilates sessions and teach you to self-manage. You can then progress to duets or group training with the knowledge of what is safe for you personally or continue with private sessions.

  • Pilates is a lifestyle change

  • Muscles imbalances are not corrected in “one size fits all classes”

  • We work with your medical practitioners

  • Small group or duet classes after private clinical classes give you the attention you need

  • Start with a consultation

Duet Reformer Classes

Exercises are performed on Pilates Reformer and Cadillac utilizing small apparatus such as arcs, balls and blocks. Resistance training on the Pilates Reformer challenges your core muscles and endurance in relation to spring resistance provided by the equipment and builds on the Pilates Principles of moving with precision, control and flow while concentrating, and breathing.
Duet reformer clients may also choose to combine Mat exercises and stretching as part of their program. All clients will learn the Fundamentals and Principles of Pilates.
Duet classes are a cost-effective way to get a personalized workout and a good way to stay motivated with a partner, friend or colleague. We recommend completing 5 private classes prior to duet training and at least one private as a minimum for new clients with previous experience.

Suitable for those not requiring private training due to certain physical issues.

Small Group Mat Classes

Learn the Fundamentals and the Principles of the Pilates method:

At Pacific Spirit Pilates, we start our training with instruction and practice of the 16 Fundamentals of Pilates. This provides a strong basis for performing Pilates exercises correctly while applying the Principles of Pilates to our movement. We learn to zone into our bodies to understand how we walk, move, sit and stand affects our every day well-being.

Some of the benefits of Pilates practice include core stability and deep core strength. Learning to engage deep core muscles while moving our limbs provides core stability. In order to prevent painful issues such as low back pain, we need to learn to engage our deep core muscles during every day activities.

Form equals Function
If we move at an optimal level of proper form, then we function and perform at an optimal level.

You will progress from Beginner mat to Intermediate mat exercises and then Advanced as your body becomes stronger.
